Windows 10 and 8

1. Click on File Explorer and right-click on C:\
2. Select Properties
3. Choose Security tab
4. Click on Administrator
5. Choose to allow Full Control (if it is disabled)
6. Under the group and usernames, click on SYSTEM
7. Allow Full Control
8. Click on Advances >> Change Permission
9. Ensure that you Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this project
10. Click Apply to save the changes
11. Click OK

Windows 7

1. Go to Windows Explorer
2. Right-click on C:\
3. Select the Properties and Security tab
4. Click on Administrator
5. Check Full Control
6. Now go to the Owner tab
7. Click Edit
8. Now select Administrators
9. Next tick on “Replace owner on sub containers and objects”
10. Apply changes and click OK
11. Again right-click on C:\
12. Click on Properties
13. Select the Security Tab under ProgramData Properties and click Advanced
14. Click on Permission >> Edit
15. Ensure that the System and Administrators’ permission is Full Control
16. If they are not in Full Control then click on Edit to make them Full Control
17. Select Replace all existing inheritable permissions on all descendants along with the inheritable permission from this object
18. Now click on Apply >> OK

Windows 7

1. Press the Windows Key and R on the keyboard simultaneously
2. Now type CMD in the Run window
3. Select OK
4. In the Command Prompt window enter this code- icacls “c:\ProgramData” /T /C /grant administrators: F
5. Now click Enter
